Mr Ian Haynes is a Chartered Accountant with an extensive portfolio of financial experience. After a 3-year internship with KPMG, Cape Town, he moved on to spend 9 years as Head of Finance in the Fruit and Wine Export Industry in South Africa. Since then, he has served as head of finance in several sectors across South Africa, Tanzania and Jamaica.

In 2013, Mr Haynes joined Sandals Resorts International Ltd as CFO for Jamaica. Since then his role evolved and saw him financially overseeing Island Routes, the Group’s Commercial Entities (Automotive & Appliances) and new ventures including Car Rentals (Enterprise, National and Alamo), Starbucks (Regional) and the AC Hotel by Marriott in Kingston, Jamaica.

Ian completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Stellenbosch (in South Africa) with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and holds a B Compt degree with honours from the University of South Africa. He also completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School and qualified as a Chartered Director at the Caribbean Institute of Directors.

As a member of the Board of Directors of The Stony Brook School in Stony Brook, Long Island, he also serves as chair of the Finance Committee.

An expatriate since 2007, Mr Haynes believes that he and his family are called to work and serve The Lord as “Tentmakers” – serving dutifully while pursuing their primary goal of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 18:1-5).

Ian has been married to Ciska for 25 years and together they have 3 children. A lover of sports, he enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active.
