Gregory Shirley is an accomplished corporate governance adviser and management consultant with more than four decades of leadership in business strategy, organisational transformation and board governance. He joined KPMG Jamaica in 1976 and, over a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years, rose to become Partner-in-Charge of Advisory Services, a Board Member of KPMG CARICOM and Head of Advisory Services for KPMG member firms across the Caribbean.
Throughout his consulting career, Mr Shirley advised leading organisations in the public and private sectors on corporate and strategic planning, organisational effectiveness, executive compensation, performance management, process improvement and change management. He is widely recognised for helping organisations strengthen governance frameworks, improve organisational performance and lead transformational change.
Since retiring from KPMG, Mr Shirley has continued to contribute to Jamaica’s corporate landscape through extensive board service. He has served as an Independent Director of Jamaica Broilers Group since October 2006 and currently chairs both the Corporate Governance Committee and the Compensation Committee. He has also served on the boards of several leading organisations, including Wigton Energy Limited, where he chaired the Corporate Governance Committee during the Company’s successful public listing on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, JMMB Bank (Jamaica) Limited, the Port Authority of Jamaica, Westar Group Limited, UWI Consulting Services Limited and Phoenix Printery Limited.
Beyond the corporate sector, he has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to education and national development through voluntary service. He served as Chairman of the Munro College Board, helping to uphold the school’s tradition of academic excellence, strong leadership and character development, and is a Trustee of the Munro and Dickenson Trust. He is also a Past President of the Institute of Management Consultants of Jamaica.
Mr Shirley holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University.
Mr Shirley was married to the late Susan Shirley, an accomplished artist and educator, and together they raised two children. Today, he is the proud grandfather of four boys and enjoys spending time with his family.
