On this International Women’s Day, we chose to take a moment to highlight one of our phenomenal women: Group Director of Human Resources, Mrs Nicole Marshall-Walker.
Nicole started her sojourn with Jamaica Broilers Group (JBG) as a summer intern in the accounting department 26 years ago. She became known for her hard work and dedication as she moved through the Company, being appointed to positions of increasing levels of responsibility in the accounting, purchasing, public relations and training departments, before finally joining HR. Her sights were set on HR from the very beginning and her pursuit of excellence in the field is worthy of note. With a thorough knowledge of the business, Nicole holds an MBA (Hons.) along with the internationally recognized Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Despite these remarkable credentials, her loyalty to her alma mater, St. Andrew High School for Girls, might lead one to believe that her most prized achievement is having attained the status of St. Andrew Old Girl.
She is known by her team to be a strategic and decisive business leader but also a sincere and compassionate friend. Her quick wit ensures that there is never a dull moment with Nicole but her loyalty and dedication are the true hallmarks of her character.
An avid baker, Nicole is known to whip-up delicious banana and pumpkin breads in abundance, much to the delight of her teammates. She keeps fit on the badminton court and enjoys tending to her orchids in her down-time. This super-woman does have her kryptonite however, as the sight of a croaking lizard is likely to yield negative results.
A loving wife to Miguel Walker; dedicated mother of Abigail and Joshua; a stalwart in the community ―serving as a Justice of the Peace in St. Catherine; and a committed member of Hope Gospel Assembly…
We are proud to have you as part of our JBG family and salute you for the phenomenal woman that you are.
Happy International Women’s Day Everyone!
