Agriculture Minister Karl Samuda says the Ministry and the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) will continue to support the farmers so they can rebound in time for Denbigh in August.
He says this is in addition to the $18 million that was previously allocated.

Samuda was speaking at the launch of Denbigh at Hi-Pro in White Marl, St Catherine, this morning.
He acknowledged that recent weather conditions had affected the performance of the sector this year.
However, he said he was confident that by the end of 2017 the performance for the sector will rival the record-breaking performance of 2016, when Agriculture contributed just under 7.5 per cent to Jamaica’s gross domestic product.
At the end of May, Samuda had reported that the heavy rains in mid-May affected over 10,000 farmers, with losses amounting to an estimated $794 million.
